Lindsey Vonn has withdrawn from the Beaver Creek World Cup, the most important U. S. race on the World Cup circuit. The race, scheduled for November 29 – December 1, is the first test of the new course that will be used for the 2015 World Championships.
Vonn crashed during a training run at Copper Mountain in Colorado. She got ‘ice rash’ on her face and upper back, but the worst injury was a minor tear in her previously reconstructed ACL. She is rehabbing the injury as fast as possible, and hopes to return to racing at the celebrated Lake Louise downhill in Canada two weeks.
Beaver Creek is in Avon, just eight and a half miles from Vail Resort, where Vonn grew up training. She is currently at a clinic in Vail for her rehab.
