Welcome back to the new, updated Adventure Sports Weekly. It’s been a long tough road getting here.
Backstory: When ASW was first new and on its way to success, I had an—um—disagreement with a would-be writer. His prose was so execrable, it couldn’t be used. He objected strenuously to the decision not to use his work. Meanwhile, I didn’t know this dude was a hacker.
He hacked Google’s algorithm (a relatively easy task, which is why the less hackable Bing is a much better search engine), and cybersquatted on this site, directing traffic to a site he had invented. Though the company hosting his site promised to stop him, they didn’t. Google also refused to do anything.
I couldn’t get rid of the the guy. It didn’t make sense to keep adding new content to Adventure Sports Weekly, since this creep would get all the credit and clicks from our work. Finally, a solution occured. I emailed advertisers on his host’s site, detailing the unethical hacking—and the bogus links were immediately taken down.
ASW could finally proceed as planned—an online magazine for the active and athletic, with unique content readers won’t find elsewhere.
Once again, you’ll get the latest adventure sports news, cutting edge training and conditioning advice, exclusive interviews with top athletes and coaches—and free goodies!
There will also be a special section for masters athletes, because those 50 and older can’t use the same conditioning techniques as those who are in their 20’s and 30’s.
In coming weeks, there will be new forums, videos and constantly new content. Best of all, there will be frequent giveaways. We have great sponsors who will load us up with product to give away to readers—everything from clothing to resort passes, dog toys to socks. The site is still being updated, so please give us a little time to be more perfect.
Visit often to see what’s new, and what we’ve got to give away to you!
